One Small Wiki Favour is a project to improve the Gemini Station Wiki, where wiki users can contribute to a number of ongoing wiki tasks and qualify for receiving in-game rewards, including (ADDING SOON). Anyone is welcome to participate, whether you're completely new to the wiki or you've been here for a while. If you have not edited before, then this is a great time to get involved!

To participate in this project and (GET AN ITEM), take a look at the tasks below and find one that looks exciting -- completing any one of them will definitely mark your way to earning you a share of an item. Each task has some advice on how to effectively tackle it, but we strongly recommend joining the #wiki channel in our Discord to coordinate with other editors, discuss the project, and claim your rewards. If you do not wish to create a discord account you can claim rewards and get help via the [[Talk:GSWiki:One_Small_Wiki_Favor|talk (discussion) page]] or by contacting the co-ordinator via their talk page. Note that rewards are not awarded automatically so please contact the coordinator and allow time to check the task, and it may take up to several days before your rewards to be given by Noresist.

Tasks and rewards

Missions

Creating Mission Infoboxes for every mission on Gemini Station.

In order to finish our Mission Project we need to create infoboxes for every mission on Gemini Station. This requires super amount of time to put it together and also get it sorted.

This is an ongoing project to add every single mission available to the wiki. Story, General Missions, Trade Missions, Misc Missions...anything that is considered a mission in Gemini Station needs to be added. This also included all information for Encounters as well.
  • Missions Information need to be placed on the Missions page.
  • Encounter Information needs to be placed on the Encounters page.

How to get started? Basically, there are several things that are needed to complete a mission card for the wiki:

  1. Name of the Mission
  2. Mission ID
  3. Mission Description
  4. Mission Character/Static Image (If present)
  5. Condition of the Mission (Objective)
  6. Mission Details (Difficulty, Ship Type, Steps)
  7. Rewards (Exact Info)
  8. Step Description (Info that is given after each step when viewing the mission details)

This is all required when putting a Mission Card together.

How to make a Mission Card? Refer to Template:Event for more details on how to make a Mission Card. Banri has all the raw data so just ask for the data to start making infoboxes. You will need to use your personal sandbox to create the infoboxes first before actually submitting them to the main page.

Current Priorities Priorities are in order from first to last what is needed the most.

  1. Missions
  2. Encounters

Farming Plant Pages

Create or substantially improve the pages for 15 plants.

The wiki is currently missing pages for most plants (the scenery objects of Farming produce) and we are looking for help creating them! These pages can be created by anyone and don't require in game actions to create.

These pages should be under the in game object name when possible, the table bellow contains the needed pages with the correct page names.

Page should include {{Infobox interactive scenery}} followed by a short text on which patch they grow in, how many seeds are needed, the level required and similar information. The id's as well as the in game name can be found in the MROD Database search for plant using it's name or a part of the name, preceded and suceeded by a /. For example /strawberry/. The infobox versions should be split, as in the example into Seed (just been planted), Seed (w) (just planted and watered), Growing (growth stages), Growing (w) (watered), Diseased, Dead and Grown (fully grown can be harvested). In the database these can be told appart by the actions listed, for all but seed and grown there should be one id per growth stage, minus the first (Seed) and final (grown) stage (for strawberry this means 5).

This should be followed by the {{Infobox Farming}} and then the growth stage image tables (both of which can be copied from the seed page). When copying the infobox please ensure that the |grown = parameter contains the correct link (the page you are creating) and the displayed text matches the in game name (this applies to the box on the seed page as well). Remeber to change the |name= parameter on the new page to match the in game name of the plant.

The bottom of the page should have the {{Seeds}} template, which is the navigation box.

See Strawberry plant for an example page.

Farming stage images

Update images of the growth stages for 5 different plants

Our images of plant growth stages are severely outdated. We are looking for players with a range of Farming levels who can capture images as their plants progress through different growth cycles.

Category:Farming stage images contains all the images that we currently have - many plants have received graphical updates and all Farming patches were updated a while ago so nearly all the images need to be taken again. Simply put the plant into the patch and capture a new image each time that its appearance changes.

Some changes can be very small, so its important to capture images at the same patch and to use the same angle to show the differences between stages clearly. An example of good images can be found on the money tree page; and there is a guide on how to capture high quality images here.

Waiting for plants to grow may take some time but you may be able to use Rapid Growth or ultra-growth potions to skip through some stages.

The following plants' images have been completed:

Image transparency

Add transparency or translucency to 30 images.

In order to have the highest quality images possible on the wiki many of them need to have the background removed and we need your help.
It is strongly recommended to NOT use the magic wand tool as it will result in a poor transparency.

We pride ourselves on having excellent quality images on the wiki. One of the things we do to achieve that is to remove distracting backgrounds from images, which we call adding transparency (or translucency for images that have particles or bloom effects). There are always plenty of images which require transparency or translucency to be added to them - they can be found in Category:Images needing transparency and Category:Images needing translucency. Transparency can be quite tricky to do at first, but we have a step-by-step guide on how to add it here. If you are not familiar with adding transparency to images, we recommend that you get feedback from other editors on your first attempts. It can take a few tries to edit transparency well. Please keep in mind that transparency must be done to a certain standard in order to qualify for this project. Some info on translucency can be found here.

Rules

  • You must have a wiki account and cannot be blocked. Anonymous edits will not count. You can sign up for a wiki account at Special:CreateAccount.
  • The reward for completion of each task will be one bond. If multiple editors contribute to a finite goal then the prize may be split between them.
  • You may also be awarded coins if you work on a goal but do not do the full amount of work required to earn a bond. The amount of coins will be equal to the percentage of the task being completed. You must do at least 25% of the total task to claim a reward.
  • If you are awarded a bond or a share of a bond, you can get in contact with one of the project runners on Discord and claim it in game. Bonds are generally awarded by Jagex which may take up to two weeks, and they will appear directly in your currency pouch.
  • You can claim two bonds over each two week period that tasks are active.
