Wormholes are random events that take place in the space lanes.

Stable Wormhole

Every 5 minutes, there is a 2.5% chance that a wormhole will open up, swallow your ship, and instantly transport it to your destination.

Unstable Wormhole

These theoretical wormholes are believed to send ships to any destination.
