Story Missions are Missions that move a specific story forward.

Story Missions usually begin in a government center, administrative district, or the Pinnacle. There are level requirements and at least some rep(as apparently -27K rep does not allow Pancake's Request)for each part of the story. Story Missions are usually somewhat long(sometimes requiring as many as 20 steps to as few as 6) handing out pretty hefty rewards depending on what was accomplished.
