Help:Discord

Discord is a free text and voice chat medium. The application can be used from within the web browser or downloaded, with the link for both being on the homepage of its website: discordapp.com. It is available for several operating systems, and can be accessed via a web-app on certain browsers, which can be seen in the table below.

To receive an invite to the Gemini Station's discord, simply follow this link: discord.gg/geministation.

Information

The typical discord interface.

The server is open to all, and it can be used to discuss the game, the wiki/forum, or anything else. We're a good and friendly community that supports the developer of the game, hang out and enjoy other player interaction.

Rules

All of the wiki's rules and all of Gemini Station's rules apply here.

Offending users may have their roles removed (if they have any), their ability to use text and/or voice chat in any/all channels removed, or may outright banned from the server temporarily or permanently, at the discretion of the administrators.

Any form of advertising, whether it be real-life or Gemini Station related, is prohibited.

Channels

Channels may be renamed, added, or removed at any time. This list is accurate as of 16:44, 31 January 2020 (UTC).

• #welcome - Everyone that uses the invitation link above arrives here. Rules and How to Discord are posted here, and only administrators can post. Players can react to the message with the Lock Emote to grant access to the server.
• #announcements - Any important announcements related to Gemini Station, Discord Server, Forum & Wiki are posted here.

• #memes - Channel is subject to constant name-changing.
• #off-topic - A channel for non gemini station talk.

Roles

Much like channels, roles may be renamed on the fly. Currently, they are generally given out ad hoc, so if you feel you need one, talk to @Banri or one of the @Moderators.

• @Wiki Admin - Claimable by Gemini Station Wiki admins & bureaucrats. Grants Access to #Wiki-Main channel. Can be @-mentioned.
• @Wiki Mod - Claimable by Gemini Station Wiki Moderators. Grants Access to #Wiki-Main channel. Can be @-mentioned.
• @Wiki Halfop - Claimable by Gemini Station Wiki Halfops. Grants Access to #Wiki-Main channel. Can be @-mentioned.
• @Wikian - Claimable by Gemini Station Wiki Standard Users. Grants Access to #Wiki-Editors channel. Can be @-mentioned.
• @Supporter - Claimable by In-Game Supporters. Grants access to #Supporter-chat channel. Can be @-mentioned.

Bots

• @Gemini Station Wiki - is a webhook bot which feeds Special:RecentChanges into the #wiki-log channel for easy monitoring.
• @Mainframe Terminal - is a bot that manages claimable role lists, and performs some auto moderation aswell as handles the ticketing, reputation, xp and suggestion functionality.
• @Station Terminal - is a bot that manages the welcome channels & message, and performs most of the server's other functionality.
• @Gemini Scribe - is a bot that keeps count of total members and stats of the server.
• @Gemini Commstat - is a bot that is used to advertise the server on a discord ad site.
• @Gemini Registrar - Pending Deletion. At present, this bot handles the auto role level up. This use to be for changing color of users after a certain amount of messages and time in server. But this is soon being replaced by a new color picker role claim where users can choose their own color in the discord server.

Mainframe Terminal Bot

The Mainframe Terminal Bot contributes a huge part to our server by providing the entire functionality of the ticket system, suggestion command, guild cards, XP System, and the reputation system. It also is our main bot for Banri and the Moderators to use for server moderation.

Commands

The Prefix for Mainframe Terminal is -. Example: -suggest.

Suggestion Command
suggest - This command is to be used in #suggestion-box channel. This will allow users to submit an idea for the game to be viewed and voted by the rest of the server. And if Noresist likes it a lot, you might end up seeing it come into reality!

Ticket Command
ticket open <ticket title> - This command is used when a player has spotted a bug in-game. The command is to be used in #report-a-bug channel. When submitted, it will open another channel for you to describe the bug in more detail between you and the developer, Noresist.

XP System Commands
The XP was designed as a bonus feature by Banri using the custom command development functionality of the bot. It was made to add some extra flavor to the server with some aspect of player age in the server. Every so often a player will gain XP when sending a message in discord. This in turn will level a player up and they will get placed on a leaderboard. The longer one stays in the server and chat, the higher their level will be.

• rank - displays your current stats. Your current rank on leaderboard, XP left to next level, total XP, current level and the progress bar to next level which is linked to this page.
• lb or leaderboard - displays the top players of the server.
• leveling view - displays the current XP rates and cooldown rate for XP.
• rr view - displays the current rewarded roles from leveling up.
• setlevel - Admin Only. Allows an Admin or Moderator to set a players level.
• setxp - Admin Only. Allows an Admin or Moderator to set a players XP.

Reputation System
This system was setup by Banri for the function of allowing server members to give rep to other players. Players can thank other players who helped them or another player which in turn grants the person being thanked a rep point. This will show who is the most helpful in the server which does in fact have some rewards! So make sure to help out where you can!

• thanks @user or @user thanks - The main command to give a rep point to the user helping out.
• rep - Shows yours or the specified users current rep and rank.
• toprep - Shows top 15 rep on the server.

Guild Cards
Guild Cards were designed from scratch by Banri for use to display info on a guild in-game. If your guild is not in the list below then you need to notify your leader or if you are the leader, ask Banri to create one for the guild. Then you can post your guildcard in the #guildcards channel. Or use can use the command to show someone your guild in a channel.

• dadcorp - DadCorp's Guild Card.
• invictus - Invictus' Guild Card.
• mrn - Martian Revolutionary Guard's Guild Card.
• mcrn - Martian Congressional Republic Navy's Guild Card.

Moderation Commands
This is a list of all commands that are available to Admins and Moderators with an exception for one command.

• report @user <reason> - Everyone Can Use This. Use this command to report someone who is breaking the server rules or harassing you or someone. We will take action immediately after report submission.
• clean # -r - Admin Only. Purges messages from a channel. Up to 1000 messages may be removed per command usage. Moderators who abuse this command get an immediately removed from mod status.
• warn @user <reason> - Admin Only. Gives a warning to a user who is violating the server rules. Members are given three warnings before they receive a server mute.
• warnings @user - Admin Only. Displays all warning for specified user.
• mute/unmute @user <duration> <reason> - Admin Only. Mutes or unmutes a specified user. Acceptable duration examples are: 30m, 4h, 1h30m, 1d. Players will get muted after breaching 3 warnings.
• kick @user <reason> - Admin Only. The command title explains itself. If one breaches the rules and continues to break the rules even after a server mute. He or she will be kicked from the server. However if they which to come back after the kick, they must realize that our moderators and admins do not tolerate breaking of the rules.
• ban @user <reason> - Admin Only. The command title explains itself. We do not want to use this command but if we have to. Then that’s that. Only will use this after constant warnings and if one continues to ignore the rules even after being kicked. They will be banned. Or used if they breach a big rule of the server such as NFSW which results in an instant ban from the server. Players can submit a Ban Appeal form afterwards if they ever want to be considered to be let back in again.

Station Terminal Bot

The Station Terminal Bot contributes the entire functionality of the currency system for the server.

Commands

The Prefix for Station Terminal is +. Example: +bal.

General Commands

• Bank - Check the total bank balance for the server, and current interest rate.
• Dep/Deposit <amount or all> - Deposit money to your bank.
• Withdraw <amount or all> - Withdraw money from your bank.
• Bal/Money or bal/Money <@user> - Check your balance, or the balance of another member.
• Give-money <member> <amount> - Give another user your money! (e.g. give-money @mention)
• Work - Work, work, work, work, work. This command has no chance of getting fined.
• Crime - Commit a crime, this has more risk but a higher payout
• Leaderboard <page> - Displays the money leaderboard for the server. +leaderboard 2 (for page 2, etc)
• Rob <@user> - Rob another user's money! You can only attempt to rob the cash part of their balance. The success rate of this is calculated using your balances.

Store Commands
All items from the store are currently ones in-game. There is currently no use for the items other than just boasting your server inventory and how rich you are. In future there may be new items that provide a role when used.

• Buy-item <quantity> <item name> - Buy an item from the store. If no amount is given, you will buy 1.
• Sell-item <@member> <quantity> <item name> - Sell an item in your inventory to another member for money.
• Give-item <@user> <quantity> <item name> - Give a user an item from the store. If no amount is specified, 1 item will be given.
• Inventory <page> or Inventory <@user> <page> - View your's or somebody else's inventory.
• Item-info <item name> - View the details for an item.
• Store <page> - View a list of items available to buy in the store.
• Use-item <quantity> <item name> - Use an item in your inventory. If the item comes with a role, you will be given this role.
• Take-item <@user> <quantity> <item name> - Admin/Mod Only. Take an item from a member's inventory.

Mini-Game Commands

• cock-fight <bet> - Place your bet and send your chicken off to fight. The more times your chicken wins, the stronger it gets! You start out with a 70% chance of winning, increasing by 1% each time it wins up to a total of 90% chance of winning. You can only own 1 chicken at a time.
• russian-roulette <bet> - Play a game of Russian Roulette. The first player to place a bet is the controller of the game. This means all further bets have to be the same, and they decide when the game starts. When the game starts, each player takes it in turn until somebody loses. The loser's bet is distributed amongst the winners. Players: 2 to 6
• slot-machine <bet> - Bet on the slot machine. If you get three in a row on the middle row, you win! Your winnings are calculated by multiplying your bet by the symbol multiplier. Current Winning chance: 2.5%
