The Galactic Fragment is a collective of 12 hidden galactic fragments scattered across the gemini station universe. Details to each fragment are well hidden but always have a clue attached to them(so far)

La Danse Macabre: Updated 4.0

ASpoiler

General
The Outlands are made up of hundreds of connected nodes. Nodes must be powered or activated using Energy Cells before that location can be scanned for connected space lanes from you ship's galactic map. Additionally, a node must be activated before the node's station facilities can be accessed.
Node Tech Level
Each node has a tech level. Levels range from None to Advanced.
Station Facilities
Supergate
Supergates are extremely powerful space gates that only connect to Nodes with an advanced tech level. Pilots may travel between connected super gates only if they have discovered both nodes.

Travel Time

Standard travel time between supergates is 60 minutes. Ship's engine efficiency mods do not affect supergate travel time.
As of 4.0 Nesellium's purpose has been outdated. Nor has said that Nesellium will serve a future purpose later.

Pre 4.0 usage
Nesellium, the rare Allegiance-based energy source can be transferred to each node to reduce supergate travel time. One Nesellium reduces travel time to the supergate by 1%. One Nesellium is used every time a Supergate is activated.

Mod Cache
Many nodes will randomly have tier III mods that can be claimed. Every 10 minutes there is a 25% chance that a node that can potentially store a mod will receive one.
Advanced Mod Cache
There are a limited number of nodes that contain advanced mod caches. These mods are on extremely long cool downs. These are tier IV mods.
Mods
Every 10 minutes there is a 25% chance that nodes that generate random mods will get a mod in stock.
Once a mod has been claimed, it is removed from the location until a new one is added.
Claiming Nodes
This section includes information pertaining to the faction claiming mechanic in the Outlands. With a few exceptions, Outland nodes can be claimed for any of the of the five major factions (Gemini Station, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Eris). Claiming a node for a faction has several benefits.
Faction Minimums
With the exception of the Gemini Station faction, each faction starts with ten (10) controlled nodes.

Each faction has its own faction encounter located at its headquarter node in the Outlands. Additionally, each faction has its own store where pilots can purchase Nesellium and mods with faction marks. Various services and upgrades will automatically unlock when the claimed node threshold is reached. This is the current breakdown of services/unlocks and claimed node requirements.
Service !! Faction Nodes Required
HQ Store Unlock || 10
Faction Encounter || 15
Faction Mark Tick [under development] || 100
Node Influence
Some nodes have a default faction leaning, meaning, untouched, they want to belong to a specific faction. But if you influence a node towards a specific faction enough, that node's faction status will change. "Enough" in this case, refers to the node's influence threshold. The influence threshold for nodes varies, ranging from as low as 50 to as high as 5,0000.
Influence Decay
Influencing a node's faction is not permanent, however. Each node has a decay rating. The node's influence will decay by that amount every hour. Once a node's influence has decayed below it's influence threshold, the controlling faction will lose control of the node. The node will either revert to it's default faction, or will remain neutral.
Influence Resets
The weekly reset has been suspended!
Claiming
There are several ways to claim a node, delivering energy cells or boosting one of several node systems:
!! Gemini Station !! Earth !! Mars !! Jupiter !! Eris
Action || Boost node communications || Boost node defensive systems || Boost node weapon systems || Refill node reactors || Hack node CPU
Outcome || + 5 faction influence || + 5 faction influence || + 5 faction influence || + 1 faction influence || + 5 faction influence
Cost || 5 Processor || 5 Energy || 5 Energy || 1 Small Helium Canister || 5 Processor
Note: Each action that increases a node's influence by 5 will decrease all other faction influences by 3.
Claiming Conflicts
What happens when pilots are attempting to claim the same node for different factions? Whichever faction has more influence than the threshold will control the node. If multiple factions have influence above the threshold, then whichever faction has the most will control the node.
Nesellium is a rare Allegiance-based energy source used to power Supergate in the Outlands. Nesellium can be bought from a faction's HQ for 5 faction marks per nesellium once 17 nodes have been claimed for that faction. It can also be gained from Outlands Encounters at the rate of 1 Nesellium per encounter. Nesellium Generators can be bought from Gemini's Breach (a Supergate) for $100,000,000. They work like normal Facilities except they are in the Outlands, and do not start with one Facility Point (FP). When bought, they produce one Nesellium per hour, with one storage.
Trivia
Nesellium is often shortened to Ness.
Nesellium is a highly valued energy source, however in 4.0 Nesellium as of right now serves no purpose.
Nesellium is used in alien technology as a primary way for space travel.
It has been somewhat suggested in a mission that Suros has Nesellium on par with give or take 10,000 energy cells.

Suros' incredulous grew when Ganther began limiting what types of mods Suros' team could produce and began placing restrictions on materials and components that could be used.

Eventually Suros, along with a small team––including longtime friend, Cav––broke away from Gemini Station and reopened a long-abandoned ice mine on Eris.

It's also rumored that Suros runs a highly illegal black market, selling unlicensed mods in exchange for intel.
Mason Jays is a Metallurgy Scientist from Mars. Mason Jays is first introduced in the main storyline of Gemini Station and is supposedly dead after an attack in the Martian laboratory. Mason Jays however has a nice demeanor, slightly worried about outside interferers, and also very quick in making important discoveries. Mason Jays is also one of the more humble characters in GEM, not necessarily like of the tone of [N8] in referring to life forms as meatbags or Suros' sassy manner at times. You can visit his memorial on The Moon when it opens.
Trivia
Mason Jays is a fan of scavenger hunts. In the remembrance mission for Mason Jays he also makes a reference to cigarettes as the cause of his death(and his family), which is either a warning not to smoke or a reference to a joke made a long time ago.

Overview
Upkeep is ongoing costs required by some services.

The upkeep is charged into the ledger with these services charging upkeep every week(12 AM Monday server time).
Features Requiring Upkeep
Current features that require upkeep:
* Hangar
* Pilot-owned drones
* Facilities
Future features that will require upkeep:
* Guild Ships (DEV)
* Crew (As of right now crew is a one time payment taken directly from your money.)
Payments
Upkeep payments can be made via the Pilot > Ledger menu. Payments can be made to your station upkeep account regardless of balance. A negative balance will appear as a credit from which future upkeep payments will be applied.
Debt
Various services will become unavailable if your upkeep balance reaches or exceeds $250,000. These services also limit what you can do, such as restricting ability to use drones or have your harvesters function normally.
Currently, Pancake only says this: meow, purr, and hiss. Pancake also has a tendency to stare.

All missions are in alphabetical order. <br>
Note: Articles with; The, A, An, are not included for ordering. So "The Terran Campaign" begins with "Terran" and not "The"
Mission Types
Main Story<br>
The Main Story is the story that GEM revolves around. The main story is the biggest story in GEM, which begins with mysterious energy readings. The main story is also coded so specific things can happen to your ship in circumstances only achieved by doing the main mission, such as having your ship mostly blown up or a wonky navigation system. The main story can be completed at any time, but the biggest chokepoints in the story are levels 10, 20, 40, and 55 due to level requirements for upgrading ships or specific mods that require a high xp level. The main story works in chapters, and is highlighted in yellow at the top of your mission page.

Story Missions<br>
Story Missions are Missions that move a specific story forward.
Story Missions usually begin in a government center, administrative district, or the Pinnacle. There are level requirements and at least some rep(as apparently -27K rep does not allow Pancake's Request)for each part of the story. Story Missions are usually somewhat long(sometimes requiring as many as 20 steps to as few as 6) handing out pretty hefty rewards depending on what was accomplished.
Story Missions appear white in the Active Missions page. Some stories do not have much lore in the story, but are still coded as a 'story'. Here are a few main story missions: The Art of Diplomacy, Space for Reckers, and High Hopes. Examples of a short story are: The Legend of Kearny and Pancake's Request.

General Missions<br>
These can be found anywhere so look carefully. The most common locations for general missions are in observation decks and store.
Missions can have one or multiple steps to complete, and can include all sorts of tasks.
General Missions are ranked from very easy(only requiring a few minutes)to very hard(may take a few days to accomplish).
Some general missions are class specific, so not all missions listed may be accessible.

Trade Missions (Replaced by Daily Missions)<br>
Found in the government centers of every major faction.
Planet specific and class specific missions.
Earth and Mars trade missions are selling food/water to every major faction, Jupiter is to sell 500 small helium canisters to GEM, and Eris is to sell 500 empty gas cylinders to Jupiter.

Daily Missions<br>
Daily missions are class specific and can be found in government centers of every major faction.
Daily missions for freighters include selling 500 specific item to a location, for fighters to defeat drones, and for scouts to hack locations(or drones).
Armor is one of two ship hitpoints. Armor is the 2nd line of defense as you only take armor damage after you run out of shields. If you armor reaches zero, your ship will be incapacitated, increasing your travel time by one and resulting in a cracked cockpit screen. Armor cannot be repaired in flight.

If your armor is damaged you can repair it on any major faction for a small fee or automatically on Gemini Station for free.
Background
The Outlands are a vast stretch of space in a distant galaxy on the fringes of Allegiance space. Packed with hidden, powerful alien tech, new resources and intel that will help defend Gemini Station from the growing Allegiance threat, Outlands space is a dangerous, ever-changing environment. But powerful mods and valuable resources are can be discovered and claimed by only the most dedicated and skilled pilots.
Overview
The Outlands are filled with hundreds of Allegiance Nodes––or Space Points, if you're Suros––connected by hundreds of subspace lanes. These connected lanes can only be discovered if the Node has been activated. Your ship will then be able to perform a scan of the area from the Galactic Map view.
Nodes
Node Discovery
Nodes can be discovered by performing a scan from the Galactic Map page at an activated Node. Nodes typically will be connected to at least one other node, but sometimes they lead to dead ends. Supergates always have 5 nodes connected to it.
Scan Mechanics
Every node has a discovery difficulty rating, typically between 5-100. When you perform a scan, a D100 + installed Sensor Scan Result mods roll occurs. If the results of that roll beat the connected, but undiscovered node's difficulty rating, an alert will appear under the scan progress bar. When the page is reloaded, the node and subsequent space lane will appear as a location you can travel to.
Scan Costs
Scanning costs 1 Processor per attempt.
Sensor Range in the Outlands
The sensor range mechanic that is in place for the Jupiter, Eris, Mercury, and Venus space lanes is not active for Outlands subspace lanes. It probably has something to do with the wibbly wobbly timey wimey...subspace lane stuff.
Activating Nodes
A node must be activated by transferring energy cells from your ship's cargo hold to the node. Once started a node will use energy until it runs out of energy, which then it enters low-power mode.
Energy Start
Each node has its own requirement of how many energy cells are needed to activate it. The number ranges from 1 (very common) to 500 (rare) and in extremely rare cases, the energy cell requirement can reach as high as 5,000.
Energy Usage
Once activated, a node will use X number of energy per hour. Typically, a node will use 1 energy per hour. They can however use energy as much as 10 to a whopping 100 in some/few nodes. Nodes that have had energy cells transmitted, but have no yet reached the threshold for activation, will not consume energy.
Energy Cell to Energy Ratio
Once a node has been activated, additionally submitted energy cells will increase the node's energy reserves by 10. (1:10 ratio)
Reputation
One (1) Gemini Station reputation is awarded for each energy cell transferred to a node.
Station Facilities
Every node has a tech level (1-5) that dictates the station facilities available at that node. Each level includes the station facilities of lower levels.
Advanced (5) || Supergate is present.
Note
Some advanced or full station facilities may contain previous levels. Example being a advanced supergate that has a cache of energy cell. Advanced nodes also repair your armor and shields.
Loot
Mods
Various mods can appear throughout the Outlands. All mods are level 60.
Random Mod
Twenty five percent (25%) of the nodes in the Outlands can contain a random mod. Every hour, there is a 25% chance that a mod will appear at one of those locations. If a mod is already preset at a node, the mod is unchanged. Once a mod is claimed, it is removed from the location and after an hour, there is a 25% chance that another random mod will appear.
Outlands Mods
There are many Outlands-specific mods that have been created and will appear at set nodes. These mods are all tier 400 mods and are located on nodes that are difficult to discover.
Legendary Mods
There are at least three tier 600 mods that can be acquired. These mods are located on nodes that are extremely difficult to discover.
Mod Notes
All Outlands specific mods and Legendary mods are single-equip, non-tradable, very slow cooldown, and have a low resale value. This combination makes mod-camping for a specific mod a waste of your time. However some mods acquired in the Outlands can be sold, making mod scavenging somewhat profitable. It still relies on luck though.
Actions
There are a few options to use in the Outlands. In the Galactic Map, here are the options:
Preform Scan- Your ship will scan for a node.
Center- If you wander too far in the map, the center button will center the map back to your ship.
Return to Ship- Sets the page to geministation.com/ship
Activate Beacon/Confirm Beacon- An emergency beacon for... emergencies probably. Either because you want to go back to the Solar System or you hit a dead end really far away from a supergate. Upon usage, you will be sent to Gemini's Breach with a travel time of 2 minutes.(with 75 Engine Efficiency) Interestingly enough you can use your beacon on Gemini's Breach, but the beacon has a 1 hour recharge time.
Plot- With supporter status, you can type down nodes in order to get to a specific node without having to log back in every few minutes to move your ship again.
Long range scanning is useless in a node, as it does basically nothing. Salvaging is possible but it is unlikely you will get items from salvaging on a node.

This station is dedicated to the work and sacrifice of Martian metallurgist, Mason Jays for his efforts in uncovering the Allegiance plot.

The Moon is a rare location that shows up right before the Full Moon and ends after the Full Moon. Thus, The Moon is only reachable roughly once a month, with the exception of a blue moon or a no full moon month.(The reason is because a month is longer than a lunar cycle, resulting in months with 2 full moons and months with no full moon.) Upon visiting The Moon you will notice that you've arrived at the Mason Jays Memorial Lunar Research Complex. It is a station dedicated to a Martian metallurgist, Mason Jays; there is a memorial erected to his name as well.

The Moon features a store that sells only Moon Rocks, a Mod Shop with exclusive lunar mods, and a memorial.
Memorial
Upon visiting Mason Jays' memorial, the plaque reads:
Trivia
* The Moon will not show up on your available locations to fly to unless you are on Gemini Station.
* The Moon is the same distance from Gemini Station as Earth and Mars.
* When The Moon was first released there was a bug that didn't allow players to leave unless they had Direct Travel from Gemini Supply Crates.
* If you are on The Moon and The Moon closes, you are not able to access the store, but you are able to leave The Moon. This is likely due to players afking on The Moon to not get stuck for 28 days.
* Salvaging is possible on The Moon.(as of 2/27/21 The Moon is out of items to salvage)
* There was a bug in The Moon space lane where items were not removed. This resulted in some strange cases where you could salvage the same item over and over without the item's removal.
* The dockmaster still gets cranky at you if you dump stuff on The Moon.
The S.S Neptune was a warship during the Great Civil War. However, it ran aground somehow and was forced to be abandoned. Recently discovered, scientists discovered that the material it produced(Blue Methane) was a really good power source. Now, the muster point, reactor, and warehouse have been restored. The bridge has a radiation lock though, and the hanger beta is holding... something...
Due to it's current low-power state, you must have a Sensor Strength of at least 20 to travel to the S.S. Neptune
In the real world, methane is a gas that is somewhat infamous for being easily lit on fire. It's density is also lighter than of air.

Methane also is colorless, tasteless, and somewhat oderless. Methane's chemical structure is also a carbon atom in the center surrounded by hydrogen atoms.
Overview
The gas giant's outpost exports gases used for mod development and for fueling shields.

It was discovered that the gases contained within Jupiter were highly effective in the construction of mods, specifically engine and weapon mods. Shortly after this discovery, a harvesting station was established in orbit around the gas giant.

Jupiter Tip: Jupiter is the only place that provides heat resistant mods that will allow to safely reach Mercury.

The JayCo Tanker
The Tanker is one of the four tier IV reputation ships in Gemini Station.

The JayCo Freighter was never meant to operate far from Jupiter Station. A gas harvester by design, the ship was built to harvest gas and deliver it to the station. But Theodore Rouse wanted a freight vessel that could rival anything built on Earth. After several months of retrofitting existing gas haulers, his efforts were finally rewarded and the JayCo Freighter was born.

A trader's dream, the JayCo Freighter was designed to both transport and protect massive amounts of cargo. The JayCo Freighter boasts impressive armor ratings and a cavernous cargo hold, at the expense of both offensive capabilities and engine efficiency. This is ship obviously classified as a freighter.

Overview
This remote ice mining outpost is home to a rich supply of precious gems and rare ice.

The ice mining outpost on Eris was established by a small group of entrepreneurs who saw a demand for precious gems and various ices used by crafters on Gemini Station. They chose the distant dwarf planet for their operation both because of the rich supply of gems and the distance from the rest of civilization allowed them to develop mods that were not quite as legal as those offered in the rest of the system.

Due to remote location, Eris tends to pay the most for water, food, and energy, making the long lonely trip worth the time.
Eris Drone
Overview
The blue planet, Earth is home to the system's shipyards and is the major exporter of water.

Earth is the originator of all life in the solar system. Although some of them hate to admit it, every colony established in the system can trace their roots back to Earth. It is also the only major supplier of water to the rest of the system.

While Gem is able to upgrade and overhaul ships, all new ships are commissioned and built in Earth’s shipyards.

Terran Mods
Terran Mods are aimed at defensive stats and are some of the best early level shield and armor mods.

The Terran Dreadnought
The Terran Dreadnought is one of the four tier IV reputation ships in Gemini Station.

The Dreadnought is the latest advancement in the renowned legacy of Terran shipwrights. Designed to be the new workhorse of the Terran peacekeeping efforts, the Dreadnought's versatility gives it an advantage in nearly every situation. From long-term, deep-space cargo missions to patrolling and defending Terran space, the Dreadnought is a beacon of freedom and justice to all peoples of the system.

Terran Drone
The Terran Drone is one of the most basic drones that can be purchased. Tied with the Martian Drone for smallest stock cargo hold, the Terran Drone can carry one S sized item.
Overview
Gemini Station is the new center of the solar system

Gemini Station is the new center of the solar system. The station is home to nearly a million people, ranging from station techs and business owners, to shipwright and government officials. Gemini Station is the best place to upgrade your ship, sell goods, craft mods, hire co-pilots, and make a name for yourself.

Gemini Station has the following districts and services available to pilots:
* Mailbox
* Trading Post
* Mod Vendor
* Auction House
* Warehouse
* Shipyard
Gemini Sentinel
The Sentinel is Gemini Station's prized ship and one of the four tier IV reputation ships. Designed as much for patrolling Gemini-controlled space as well as dark-op missions, the Sentinel is packed with features that'll fill both fighter and scout pilots with envy.

An all-around combat and scouting vessel, the Sentinel was designed to find trouble, start trouble, and end trouble. While boasting of both fighter and scout abilities, the Sentinel is technically classified as a scout ship.
Gemini Drone
A well-rounded, versatile drone option, the Gemini Drone boasts are larger cargo hold than typical drones, and allows the carrying of M-sized goods. The increased cargo bay and cargo rating is likely why this drone is the most expensive drone on the market.
